FlowCoach has developed a Child Coaching Experience with a trauma informed focus to 'interrupt' the increasingly more complex and younger presentation of trauma and pain based behaviours of children in our communities.
Change is not taught but caught and can be transferred to children concurrently while living in dysfunction
The unique aspects of a Child Coaching Experience for a child in trauma or dysfunction are;
- An extended ‘window’ to another world, creating opportunities for comparison and reflection in a supportive trauma informed relationship
- Opportunities for the Coach to support the child as the child identifies areas of contribution, responsibility or leadership that interest him/her.
- A relational journey that potentially takes Child and Coach from Primary school to Intermediate and beyond to High School years – a corridor of transitional support
- Specific child focussed considerations such as police vetting, digital identity, whanau & child advocacy
Healthy child development has an expectation of both care for the child and contribution from the child. The Child Coaching Experience provides this exciting point of difference framing both care & contribution !
